Workshops at BioFach
The EU project group behind “Organic Revision” will participate in two workshops held at BioFach in Nuremberg, Germany. Both workshops are held in collaboration with The International Federation of Organic Agriculture Movements (IFOAM).
The first workshop is on "Principles of organic Agriculture, and it gives an overview of the IFOAM work on the revision of the basic principles. Likewise there will be a presentation on the possibilities for integrating the basic ethical values of organic agriculture in the development of the EU regulation. Finally, the results of focus group interviews on producers’ perspectives on values and principles will be presented.
The second workshop is entitled "Harmonising the regulation of Organic Agriculture in the EU". Based on the research in Organic Revision, the workshop will examine the harmonization problems with inputs in organic plant production, the possibilities for organic feed supply for pigs and poultry in the EU and the consequences of 100 % organic diets for pigs and poultry. Finally, a first edition of the database on organic standards will be presented.
For each of the workshops there will be a guided discussion in order to get inputs from the workshop participants.
Both workshops are held on the 25th of February in room Oslo. The first workshop will be from 12.00 to 13.45. The second will be from 14.00 to 15.45.
